Dr. Eduardo de Frutos

Medical Director of Kalos Aesthetic Medicine

Dr. Eduardo de Frutos, Medical Director of Kalos Aesthetic Medicine, has a degree in Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid and is a university specialist in Aesthetic and Cosmetic Medicine with 10 years of experience and a specialist in Family and Community Medicine. He is an active member of the Spanish Society of Aesthetic Medicine and coordinator of the teaching activity of the Castilla-La Mancha Association of Aesthetic Medicine.

When I finished my degree in Medicine I did the MIR in Family Medicine, because I wanted to develop a more global vision of Medicine. But I soon discovered that doctors can perform other functions besides curing illnesses. We can also work with “healthy patients” to improve their quality of life. This is an example of Aesthetic Medicine. Our patients are well, but they want to be better. From that moment on, my career was focused on aesthetics and I do not regret a single day of that decision.

On the other hand, Aesthetic Medicine still has a long way to go. Research is very intense, whether it is new techniques or the development of new anatomical concepts, collagen stimulation… It is an exciting world for any inquiring mind.

SecretRF® radiofrequency. It is a radiofrequency system applied by micro-needling.

We often say that Aesthetic Medicine is a mixture of art and science. Obviously, the artistic aspect is very subjective, but the scientific aspect of our profession is becoming more and more demanding. Our patients are also very informed and do not want to put their health in the hands of just any technology.

When choosing a medical-aesthetic technology brand, it is important to assess several points: their international prestige, their commitment to medical training and research, the confidence in the technical service and maintenance, what support they will give us in the development of our new treatment (marketing) and the safety for our patients.

Very good results and also very natural. The main thing we can achieve with SecretRF® is the improvement in the quality of the patient’s skin, reduction of fine wrinkles, tightening effect, and more luminosity… It allows us to work in areas where injectables are not so safe, or more complex problems, such as stretch marks or atrophic post-acne scars.

Micro-needling is already a well-known treatment, but SecretRF® goes one step further and uses these microneedles as a tool to transmit radiofrequency energy directly to the dermis, which is where we want to produce the neocollagenesis stimulus. There are other microneedle radiofrequency devices, but the ease of use of Cutera’s equipment is far superior: the handpiece is comfortable for the operator, the motor that activates the insertion of the needles into the skin is gentle enough to make the treatment tolerable, and the needles are of high quality.

As you can imagine, SecretRF®. It is already an indispensable tool in our clinic. I believe that the production of new collagen is the immediate future of Aesthetic Medicine, and with SecretRF® we achieve a very natural and safe neocollagenesis.

Of course, we would. Cutera is a company that has contributed a lot to the development of Aesthetic Medicine at an international level. In addition, SecretRF® is a very versatile device that we can almost recommend to any patient… what skin does not need a stimulus to improve collagen quality?
